Today, the Nairobi Coffee Fest is taking place.
Coffee lovers, professionals and coffee farmer come together to promote the coffee culture in Kenya. Last year was celebrated the first time with great success. Today is the time for the sequel. And there are plenty of things on the agenda: coffee tasting, workshops for latte art, hand brewing, coffee cocktails, pottery and how to cook with coffee. The best compete in the Latte Art and Aeropress competition. There is a kids corner and of course there will be live music. At 11am there is even a coffee ceremony like in Eritrea and Ethiopia. The coffee beans are roasted, ground, cooked in a special pot and served in small ceramic bowls with traditional snacks.
