Today, the World Coffee Roasting Championship is starting.
After a trial in 2012, the World Coffee Roasting Championships started officially in 2013.
The competition takes place over 3 days.
On the first day, the competitors will receive green coffee, that must be evaluated. Then they will sample roast it.
On the second day, the roasters hand in a plan on how to roast the coffee. Afterwards they have to roast the provided raw competition coffee in the best possible way within one hour. Most roasters try to make 3 roasts during this time.
The third and last day is about the evaluation and cupping of the coffee. At this point, the judges come in.
